Always support and cooperate with the coaches, referees and board members.
Contact any board member to report any and all concerns or to ask questions.
The BSC is looking for a Few Good coaches. Have you considered taking a rewarding coach's job?
Training sessions and materials are available. Contact BSC President.
Volunteers are needed in many capacities such as referees, board members, and coaches. Contact any
board member if you are interested or have any questions.
The hours are long, the pay isn't, but the rewards are PRICELESS!

Required Equipment |
- A B.S.C. uniform as the outer garment and soft-cleated soccer shoe or tennis shoe.
- Shin guards & socks are required equipment. Shin guards must be worn under the socks and socks
must cover the entire shin guard.
- Players requiring glasses must wear sports goggles.
"Street" glasses are not permitted by the IYSA or BSC.
- The wearing of jewelry, earrings, headbands or bandannas is NOT ALLOWED. Earrings must be removed
during game play and practices. Earrings may not be taped.
- Game balls are provided by B.S.C.

Basic Game Rules |
|
DEFINITIONS:
The goal-line(s) is (are) those that define the length of the field.
The touch-line(s) is (are) those that define the width of the field.
The centerline is the line in the center of the field
The center-circle is the circle intersected by the centerline.
A goal is scored when the whole ball crosses the goal-line, between the goal posts and under the crossbar.
A goal-kick is when the attacking team kicks the ball past the goal-line at their offensive end.
The ball shall be spotted in the goal-area and kicked in by the defensive team.
A corner-kick is when the defending team kicks the ball past the goal-line near the goal they are defending.
The Ball will be placed at the corner of the goal and touch-lines where the ball was kicked out. The attacking
team will take the kick.
All players should move back approximately (5 feet for Elementary)(5 yards for Minor) 10 yards away from
the kicker on a corner-kick or goal kick.

Responsibilities |
PARENTS
- It is each parents responsibility to see that his/her child attends and has transportation to and
from practices and games.
- Parents should discourage bad language, obscene gestures, foul play, etc. at all BSC activities.
- Parents should exhibit a cooperative spirit with coaches, referees, and opposing players and parents.
- No alcoholic beverages or like substances of any kind may be bought to any practices or games.
- Volunteer to assist the coach when possible.
- Parents should provide a properly inflated ball, in good condition, for use in each practices.
COACHES
Conduct himself/herself in a manner to be respected by other players and coaches
Participate in POSITIVE coaching techniques
Refrain from excessive coaching. Let the players play the game, tech skills at practice.
Encourage clean competition and good sportsmanship
Teach and coach the players to the best of his/her ability
PLAYERS
Display good sportsmanship at all times.
Respect the decisions of the referees and coaches.
Be prepared to play each game by having the appropriate soccer equipment.
Be an active part of the team by participating in scheduled team practices.
SPECTATORS
Parents and spectators are required to watch the game from the opposite side of the players.
Coaches and parents are not permitted on the field, during the game. The exception is when the referee
has motioned an individual to render aid to their child.
Parents and spectators are encouraged to cheer for their players and their team. Cheers like:"Great Play,(name!)",
Go, (team name!)" are appropriate.
Neverattempt to give a player direction during a game. The game is for the players, let them think
for themselves.
